Converting auto hub axle

So, the axles I picked up for my upgrade for 8-bolt, the front doesn't have hub to lock or unlock. Will I be able to convert the axle to manual hubs? Any ideas as to what that will cost? D44 for a 76 K20.

You know that you can just swap hubs for 6 bolt to 8 bolt upgrade? I have a set with milemarker lockouts I can sell you.

I think that you can pull the auto hubs apart and install manuals as well though.

Re: Converting auto hub axle

It's easy to install locking hubs unless your new front axle is from a Dodge full time 4x4. If by chance it is a Dodge axle, it would probably be cheaper and easier to purchase a complete GM front axle assembly. My son has a Dodge that has a Chevy front axle in it. They are interchangable.

Re: Converting auto hub axle

Mile marker website says that you have to have a conversion kit for auto hubs. Are they auto hubs or is it a full-time 4WD truck. i guess there is a difference. Full-time 4wd needs an adapter for the T-case, not sure on the axle.
