Window regulator differences?

Can anyone tell me the differences between the 67-71 regulator and the 72 regulator?
I just installed a replacement in my '69 and the crank handle sticks out alot more than the original. I have the correct replacement gromets on the metal door panel that have been on for a few years and the gap is pretty serious, about 1/4 inch.
I'm guessing they sent me the wrong application.

Compare the old one against the new one.
You should be able to see the difference in the length of the shafts for the handles.
I bought two of these from LMC right and left and could not get the handle to go over the splines on one but the handle would fit all of the others I had.
I marked before sending it back.
They sent me another one and stated that there was nothing wrong with the one they had sent and that they were sending it back but they also included a new handle.
When I received the new regulator, it was a different one but worked fine.

They would not admit to there being an issue with this regulator.

Hutch, that sounds like lmc to me. There coustomer service sucks. And there right 72 has a longer shaft for the thicker door panels.
