I am up to 11 in the city and 14 on the highway. I have a 406 small block with a 700r4 with 373 with a edelbrock 750cfm carb(that isn't tuned right). I guess I should mention that I am 18. That doesn't help!

12.5 MPG with the origional 402BB with 66,000 origional miles and still running strong.

hmm, just for kicks and skittles, I'd say I'm getting between 5-8 mpg, it'd help if my speedo was calibrated. gas mileage seems to drop as horsepower increases. 350, flat tops, 292 cam, headers, torker II, th400, 3.73's - 438 american horses baby. yet 0-60 in not fast enough

Hey guys dont feel bad i was just watching TV and the 5000HP Dragster Machines on Alky were burning 15 gallons a minute so they say.Ive never had more than 10 mpg from a 350 or a 402,i think most trucks get close to the same,but when i had a 283 2bbl in one and a 4speed i got fair mileage.next built one will hopefully give me as little as possible pumping through 1/2" fuel line-LOL

right now it's not using much gas at all

come to think of it, I haven't put any gas into my truck in over 2 years.... we'll see if it uses any more once I get it on the road and track with the 396/th400 combo..

I'm getting 19mpgwith my set up.!970 swb 4x4 running 4.10 gears 33inch tall tires, and an awesome 1996 corvette lt1 with a 700r4 trans. I love the setup. No more hard cold weather stars, walk out turn the key and i'm running. i was wondering if anyone knows how to figure out what a 1/4 mile strip time would be at sea level. At 4500 feet I ran a 16.30.

The good ol' truck with 250/6 3 speed gets 15-16mpg around town,16-19mpg highway. If I cruise on rural highways and keep the speed under 50, I have been able to get 20mpg.

Wheels are 235/75 15 on old aluminum slot mags.
Rear axle ratio to the best of my knowledge is 3.73
Good ol' truck is a 71 short bed stepside.
Manual trans, manual steering, manual brakes.

I used to have a 69 C10 LWB Fleetside with the 250 straight 6 and 3 speed tranny. It got 18 miles per gallon pretty consistently on the hiway. Had pretty good power for such a small engine too.

Sixes: Had a 74 C10 250/3 speed that got 15. An 80 1/2 ton van with 250/3 speed and progressive two bbl carb that got 18. My 52 3/4 ton, 235, 4 spd, 4.57 gears and 31" tires gets 10 if I keep it under 60. A whole lot worse over 60.

I'm only getting around 8 in town with a 350 and pretty conservative driving. Any ideas on how to increase mpg or potential problems that may be keeping me from getting 10-12 or better? I've got a THM 350 and a Q-Jet.

Lets see...

'68 K20, 350 4bbl "rv" cam (don't gimme crap, I know all about "rv" cams and "3/4 race" cams

), 4-speed stick, 4.57 gears, 5300lbs, 33" tire, 7mpg city, 8mpg hwy.

'69 K10, 350 4bbl "rv" cam (see above), 4-speed stick, 3.73 gears, unknown weight, 31" tire, 20+ hwy (before I took it off the road for a frame-off).

'72 K10 burb, Unknown "crate" 350 w/ no stamping numbers & 4bbl, th350 slush box, 3.73 gears, 5600lbs, 33" tire, 8mpg.

'72 C10 - dunno. It's never had an engine in it for the entire time I've owned it. I'm gonna remedy that here in the next couple of months, so that I can use it as my commuter. Hoping to get high teens. <-- that doesn't sound good, maybe I'm hoping to get 17+ mpg!

The '69 only got about 6 before I rebuilt the engine. It was whatever was stock in a '77 Camaro.

My 72 with 350, 4 bbl, TH350 and stock rear got approx. 9 MPG on its 95 mile trip to get painted. On that trip much of it was 70 MPG and it was being pushed getting on the interstate and passing.
I have been easy on her since I got her home. 10 MPH on the gravel and rolling downhill on gravel. Accelerating easy everywhere I go and driving 50-55 on the rural highways around here unless I get a couple of cars behind me and then its 55-60. Not sure the mileage its getting though.

13 combined. 406/700r4/3.50 gears. pretty good considering the power output of the motor.

20 mpg at 75 mph, that was the average from here to Carlisle PA, and back. Tires are 245/60R15, soon to be replaced with what I am not sure. 3.73 rears . Will be rebuilding the 292, see what happens with a fresh rebuild, the current 250 is slowly dying
