Positively POSI
I am positive that i want posi traction in my baby and its one of the few parts i dont have to wait to purchase because of other projects that must come first. its un-related to any future plans, so....
I have a modest 350 with a very nice TH400... I have 6 lug axles. Does any of this matter to what POSI i buy and the most important question: How much should i plan to spend, i'm not looking for cheap because i am a big proponent of you get what you pay for! Our hammers are the most expensive on the market and for good reason, they dont fail! What is the method of going POSI and what should one spend to do it right? Please give me the brand you like best and where to purchase and how much you spent. TIA

I went with a spool from Mark Williams. I also looked at their posi units but since I wasn't planning on daily driving I decided a spool was more to my taste.
I also have Mark Williams axles... pricy but I believe you get what you pay for. "Strange" engineering would also rate up there in quality and price. I went with a Auburn posi unit and new axels and Mark Williams installed them in the housing. So far it has worked great.

posi(moroso) set of gears(richmond) new bearings and crarge for install cost right around a thousand dollars 6years ago

i have been told that the detroit true track is one of the best posi traction units because there is no clutches, i am planning on getting one for my 02 sierra. i guess it really depends on what your doing. if its gona be a off road vehicle, a arb air locker would be the best, imo. of the clutch type i hear the auburn is pretty good. STAY AWAY FROM GM G-80, aka the gov bomb..... the tru track is about 500, might want to do axles if you are pushing higher power or want to do heavy stuff.

I bought the Auburn posi #542034 from jegs it was $446.99, with a set of Richmound 3.42 gears. That was the cheapest posi unit that I could find at the time. I haven't run it yet, but I have friends that have run Auburn products and they like them. It was also a very easy install and went together good.
