Re: Turbos

supercharger is safer. at least if it stops working it doesn't blow the motor it simply looses power. i worked on a cyclone with a turbo and it was the biggest pain in the keister i've ever worked on. when the waste gate fails to open it tends to carve holes in the pistons. it was a really cool looking piston but the $3000 bill to fix it sucked for the owner.

Re: Turbos

I was running twin 60mm turbo's on my 65 at one point, was one hell of a ride. I like turbochargers rather than superchargers, due to the kick in the ass feel you get when the turbo is fully spooled, rather than the off the idle feeling of the supercharger.

You're bound to make more torque with a roots / centrifugal sc.

More Horsepower with a Turbocharger.

Re: Turbos

One of the local guys around here has a pretty sweet turbo truck. You might have heard of it, it had been in hot rod magazine 4 different times. I've watched him street race it quite a few times. I also watched him put down over 1,000 RWHP on PUMP GAS. Crazy! I still have yet to line up against him. Maybe this spring, he just converted over to a twin setup this year. here's his website - Turbotruck.net Also is featured in one of my buddies websites in quite a few videos, 1320video.com

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Parishs Truck is freaking amazing. It hauls butt. Twin Turbo ls1 on nitrous is pretty potent in that truck. His truck has ran a best of 10.08@136 on 18psi.
