VIN code and option question

I saw a post here earlier today about a possible misprint on a title. I have a question about the truck that I just picked up last weekend. The VIN starts like this CCE242Jxxxxxx. My question is why are there two C's in the begining when it was made in Janesville?

Re: VIN code and option question

I believe the CC is a 72 only thing.

Re: VIN code and option question

all 72 chevy trucks have a C in the begining... after that, they decode like normal.
GMC did the same, but with a T
