Body work question

Any of you who know me from 73-78.com know i have a 1976 C10 that is a rustbucket which my son and i hope to restore, and use as his daily driver and maybe as a work truck for him.
The drivers door on this truck is pretty cancerous and i was wondering if it is worth getting patch panels and using both inner and outer patch panels on this door or just trying to find a used door for it. Im in the process of moving and once i get to the new place my son and i are pulling the body off the frame of this truck to replace floor panels and a bunch of work on the fenders
Also im told its better to use glue to attach patch panels to the body then spot welding the pieces is that true?

I can't help you on the welding/gluing question but you will be much better off just finding a better door...and it will save you time as well! Start searching e-bay and your local classifieds, one is bound to turn up.
