How to attach stainless steel angle irons to stepbed?
I have new stainless angle irons for the side of the step bed. I have removed the old ones which were spot welded. How do I attach stainless ones? I usually MIG weld other things, but isn't there a special process with stainless? What have the rest of you done? Bolts, cold weld? Liquid nail type adhesive? I am just afraid of ruining the finish on the angle irons. Help??

I will be doing this too. I think if you check MARK K they say bolt or weld. Since they are stainless I am thinking stainless hardware. That was my thought anyway.

On my '65 GMC step I am using stainless button head bolts. My angle is painted steel.

You can weld it if you want to with your MIG. The area around the weld will turn blueish though.

tig....I don't know if the mig will stick to the stainless AND the steel. heck, I don't even know if a tig will stick....probably will with the right filler rod.

Yes MIG will stick just fine to stainless.
