Will eaton 5.14 gears work in a 4.10 carrier?

I have a set of 5.13's that are in a thrid that does not have the ring gear preload bolt. I'd like to know if the gears will swap over and work in a 4.10 third that has it? I'd like to upgrade simply to take advantage of the feature to keep my ring gear from deflecting under power. Common sense dictates that they all should interchange with no problem, but there is carrier breaks on other axles....

Ive never had em apart, never tried taking it apart... Do these things take shims, have adjusters, what?

They set up easy. Just get an old motors truck manual and you should have all the info in there.
