a little help if you could....

I am looking at buying this '70 and I'm a little concerned about the value. I am regularly a 73-87 guy but I really like this truck. She wont go lower than $9000, truck only has a couple thousand miles on paint, and you can pretty much see what else has been done. Oh and it was appraised at 16k last summer but who know's if thats correct. Thanks for any help

Yeah I will be starting another 73-87 soon but would like a nice driver in the mean time. This truck runs great just a stock 350

Re: a little help if you could....

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Look at the under carriage to see what all has been done. Check the Vin number for history, if you have any cop friends they can get any relevant history that could help assess value; that might not be available to you as a normal citizen.
Get out the magnet and check for bondo, look for normal rust areas.

I actually saw a lot of the frame off process and it was done really well. It actually won the super chevy show here a couple years ago. Sounds like maybe the price is a little high?

Re: a little help if you could....

It's worth as much as your willing to pay. IMO but then again I traded my 1993 Grand Cherokee for my 69 C-10 so it's up to you.

Nice truck.

Re: a little help if you could....

Thats not a bad deal at all. It's a nice truck and it really is worth what your willing to pay but what do you to expect to get for any cheaper? If you wanted to change anything at least you already have a awesome truck to start out with.

Re: a little help if you could....

That is not a bad price considering that you would spend at least $16,000 doing your own ground up resto/rodsto on a truck.

Re: a little help if you could....

I would have to agree with 72Chevrolet and John Fabris. With the frame off work and as good as it looks on the exterior, I would say you are really getting a hell of a swell deal. And yes, you would spend more than than to do all the wokr that has been done to that truck on your own. I say jump on it. I would...

If it's not full of putty, and it doesn't wave at you when you look down the side, I would think that 9K is a bargain. I wouldn't sell either of mine for 9K.

Re: a little help if you could....

That is a very fair price relative to the prices here in South Florida, of course that is based on only the few pictures I can see and your description. I bet that truck could go for a lot more in the right venue. I say grab it!!!

Exclamation Re: a little help if you could....

if it's as nice as the pics, you would be crazy not to buy it--if it's really what you want. around here a top notch paint job costs more than 9 grand. looks like a bargain to me, i've got way more than that in my 72 cheyenne and i still don't have the paint or motor done.
