Rear Coil Installation?

Is there a right or wrong way to install the rear springs? I think I have the cups(retainers in corret, but was wondering if there is a specific way the springs should be facing. How about the notch in the cups, what is there function? Mine are not contacting the end of the spring, the cups seem to seart better when not contacting the end of the spring.

Re: Rear Coil Installation?

I know that on the front springs, you are supposed to make sure the end of the coil is toward the wheel/fender. When I did the rears, I thought I'd just kinda twist them around until they "FELT" seated. However, I never really got that feeling. They seem to be just fine the way I installed the, though, so I don't think it really matters on the rears.
