headlight relays and painless

Been reading the stuff on headlight relay installs. If you install a new painless wiring harness is the relay set up still needed?

The kit for 67-72s does NOT come with a headlight relay setup. You must buy one of their headlight relay kits separately. The reason I think is because some folks might not use stock lamps. Also, the original wiring doesn't have relays, and the kit largely mirrors the circuits in the original.

It is not needed, but you are still running the power from the battery to the headlight switch then to the lights.... Same as a stock harness...
