Re: long to short

If I understand correctly, Ii think it's the same out of the bed sides as well. 12" in front of the wheel, then 6 or 8 out of the back.

Re: long to short

I would advise you to cut 6" out of the back. Mine was cut 8" and I think it's too short. You can always cut another inch out if needed VERY easily, but it's MUCH harder to put it back.

Ok,I took these measurments along the body line on the lower half of the bed.Not exact but gives you an idea of what you need.

27 and 3/4 " from front of bed to wheel opening along bottom body line

I measured along the very bottom edge of the rocker, not the body line

Re: long to short

hmmm 2 short beds two different sizes.

i'd measure from the bottom of the wheelwell that's prolly gonna be the best.

i'm glad someone asked this cause i'm about to do it to a lb i've got too.

Thats good to know.I am glad it isnt one of those trimmed down longbeds because usually they are not done correctly and look odd while installed on it.I guess there is a plus to buying a $350 truck. It has the original shortbed!!!

With all those measurments a good shortbed should be able to be made.

Check out my build thread in my signature and you will see pics of the truck while it was still in the junkyard and what it looks like now
