Look what I got this time.
Today, the day after Christmas Midlothian Electric had a light day, so I decided to go to a salvage yard that DJRACER told me about 30 miles from Richmond. My intention was to get a tailgate, side marker lights, and maybe some door mirrors. I did not know what I was getting into. The owner said he has the parts and 5 or 6 69-72 trucks. When I got there he said he didn 't know exacttly where they were. They have 50 acres and 8000 vehicles. He called his employee and told him what I wanted, which was the light lenses, after a 1/2 hour of searching we found one. (there is no organization to this place, other than "these two buses have all chevy lights in them") After we found the lense I told him I was also looking for a tailgate. We went to another section and found another bus with doors and fenders in it. There was one tailgate in there, in rough shape. When I pulled the gate back to look at the other side, I saw this seat. I didn't know what to say. The employee that was with me called to the office to ask how much for the seat, they said $150 for the seat $100 for the tailgate. I only had $170. I said I'll take the seat and come back for the gate. The employee with me said, "If you don't get it today, It probably won't be here when you come back." If I hadn't been oon this site, I wouldn't have known what I was looking at. The whole seat is in good condition, I will have to get the driver bottom upolstered, but I am happy. Now, we did have to walk it out of there about 50 yards, over ever thing you can think of. I found out how out of shape I am. I told the owner I would be back on Friday for the tailgate, and a list of other stuff I need. I just want to thank you guys for posting pics of trucks and parts, you got me hooked.
