Got my new lift kit
Well,my lift kit finally came.Just in time for christmas and hope to have it on by the end of the week.Its a Rough Country 4" spring lift.I got all 4 new springs because thats the only way to go IMO.Some might not like Rough Country but $600 for all 4 springs and shocks is a good deal so I bought it.I might regret it once the trucks is mobile but I am keeping it for the time being.Here are a few crappy pics of the new springs.I will post pics as I install it as I get around too it also.

Don't Forget Your Braided Stainless Brake Line's Too.i Had To Buy Them When I Lifted My 75 Yrs Ago Wouldn't Stop With Out Them.

I plan on it once that part of the truck is ready to be installed.Its currently a bare frame so I dont worry about brakes much right now.I will run new lines before the body goes back on though.BTW,I started the dissassembly of the front end to get ready to install the lift kit.

The disadvantages of a cheap lift kit...They dont include new front shackles or bushings for them.They dont include instructions,you must download them.Well,I dont have a computer in the shop so what am I to do???Next time it will be a skyjacker lift.

I can totally understand if it's your first lift that you want instructions to follow. If so, print them out at the computer you get to this site from and take them to the barn when you install it. By the way, most leaf spring kits don't come with new shackles or bushings for the shackles. Just the bushings for the springs themselves.

I know how to install the lift kit but they should atleast have instructions for those who havent done it before.How much will it cost them to send a sheet of paper telling people how to do it?I guess if you think about it they shouldnt include new shackles because you dont need to remove them to change springs BUT I am replacing everything now so I dont have to tear it back apart in a few months to change a bushing.I just ordered new shackles and bushing front and rear and they should be here next week.I guess the lift kit will wait a week...
