1970 c 10 steering

I have a 1970 c 10 with power steering. It turns with one finger one way but when I go back the other way its like no power steering.I think its in the gear box any help please

If the pump is full of fluid and the belt is tight then more than likely the steering box is bad. The box has a centering valve that directs the fluid for power assist and it sounds like that valve is not working properly.
