well you live in one of the worst counties for emmisions testing. my recomendation would be to register it in a differnt county, if you have a good friend or family that lives in a 'hick' area register it to their address. i live in dallas county but i registered it down in college station where i go to school, i some places basically just pull them through and slap a sticker on if your nice.

if you can't do that then you are going to need all of the original emmissions equipment that came on your truck. like egr, smog pump, cat converters, and charcole canister. and some places will give you hell if you don't have your orginal thermostatic air cleaner on it

or you could move to Oklahoma. but unless you go anywhere outside the metro you wont get passed very easily or at all without the emissons stuff.

Ain't that the truth!
I actually had to borrow one from a friend just to get my 76 inspected in the Houston area.
I hate inspections.

I do.

I have a EGR, A.I.R. pump, charcoal canister, and cat converter. I pass with flying colors and my truck is far from stock. It don't look as cool and things are a little harder to work with, such as exhaust, but you do what you have to I guess.

I have emissions testing as well. Best thing you can do is go this weekend to the Swap Meet in Arlington and find you an old intake. Make sure to have the EGR and heat riser on it. This will help you alot in emissions. I got lucky and the guy didn't look real hard on mine. I've got one more year to go. You're also lucky in that you don't have to have a cat converter. The State says 84 and older are cat free. More advice is change your plugs, clean air cleaner, oil change, and reduce your timing along with a good adjusted carb and you should pass fine. I did fail first time but not by much. I did the previous and passed no problem.

Emmissions? Man I can't even pass visual.
By the time Austin gets emmissions my truck should hit the 25 year rule.

Anything 25 years and older just have to have a safety test. No emissions testing or looking.
