Can i move the enigine foward?

I have a 1970 chevy pickup that has a 358 in it and I have a dual quad tunnel ram intake to go on it. The only problem is that the back carb barely clears the firewall by about one inch. I have a 2 inch spacer and bug catcher to top it off but in order for it to fit i'm going to have to move the engine foward about four inches. I worried about doing that because i don't know how the weight transfer will after the handling and how the truck ride. I know it's been do before so I thought this would be a good place to get so advice.

P.S. Doing work to the firewall is out of the question cause i have no body skills.
Thanks

Yep. I had to move the 454 in my GMC Jimmy forward an inch so the HEI distributor would clear. The transmission crossmember will have to be moved and check the driveshaft length.
