Newbie - Exhaust questions
Hey guys
I recently baught a 1986 K10, all original, with almost no rust....211,000kms on the clock Now I am up in Ontario, and to find one with no rust, is hard.....almost impossible Anyways I have done a bit of work to it, and now looking into exhaust One of the AIR pipes are leaking.......thus the more reason to buy headers I am torn between longtubes, and short tubes.....and I want dual exhaust Was wondering if anyone has pics of there Dual exhaust on there 4X4, both with long, and short tubes? I am wondering how it is routed around the Transfer case....I want to go with the stock dual exhaust routing, where is exits behind the rear wheels, one on each side Thanks Cameron |

long tube for sure spend the extra cash and get hookers. theres so many crappy headers out there.. a good set of headers will last the life of the truck. i always use stage8 header bolts as well. never have leaks... someone should have some 4x4 pictures for you. your pal mark o yea we got to have pictures of your rig click the video in my signiture to hear some lomg tube hookers Last edited by rage'nrat638; 07-12-2007 at 07:00 AM. |

Re: Newbie - Exhaust questions
Make sure you take a picture of your bracket configuration before you remove you stock headers. I purchased a pickup and had 4 mystery brackets that the guy that sold it to me took off. After buying a set of headers that fit, I set out to get my power steering back. It was a mess, but I ended up modifying the stock bracket to work.

Here is a couple of pics of some long tube headers on an open frame. I can try to get some pics of the rest of my exhaust tomorrow.

Re: Newbie - Exhaust questions
long tube headers by far....they are 10 times easier to change collector gaskets if you ever have too.....and as far as a "factory" dual exahuast...the 4X4's didn't have it...i ran dual 3" on mine and just went up over the passager side of the transfer case....with 3" it was a trick because it was tight...but i've had it on since last winter and haven't had any problems
