Dash pad ?
I was installing my new dash pad today and after getting the old one off (and you know how much fun that is) the new one is an 1" to short ! Anyone ever had this problem? It's a GM resto part so it shocked me when it didn't fit. I've made some phone calls to get it replaced so I'll let you know how it goes....

I've seen this on these pages before.
Isn't it amazing that the good general is authorizing sub standard parts for restorations these days? |

I noticed that the new one that I got was about a 1/2" short on both ends. All of the holes lined up ok though.

Found mine to be a bit short on either end as well. I can live with it. One thing before installing, make sure you trim the excess plastic off around the base of the bolts. Sometimes the molding process leaves some undesirable bits and you soon learn of them after installing. I had one noticeable "hump" and had to pull it all out again just to trim a bit of plastic.
