Got my engine out... What now

k guys this is continuing on the Help me.. no compression thread i made. but i got the engine outta my truck and pulled the pass. side head off the 3rd cylender back the piston has oil all over it. and all the rest of the pistons are black. what would casue this. what should i do now? by the way this is my first v-8 rebuild ive done plenty of lawnmower engines in highschool though so im not going at this totaly in the dark.

Are you trying to debug the problem and see if you can fix it without a complete teardown, or are you starting a rebuild?
