I am looking to get radials to replace my swampers. I was looking at either the Nitto Mud Grappler 38 x 15.50 x 18 or the MIckey Thompson MTZ in the same size. They would be mounted on Wels Cheyenne's 18 x 12. I am not shure how that wheel will look on my 72 blaxer. Does anyone run these wheels on a 1st gen? Does anyone use either of those tires?

All I can say is man that is some big wide rims

I have neither but like the Nitto's

why not some tsl radial's? i got about 40,000 and i wheeled them hard. and they alot cheaper than nitto's

I have the 38mtz's and im real happy with them. The tire shop told me they couldnt belive how little it took to balance them... One took less than 3 ounces which is unheard of on big tires like this. Im running 16 inch rims just because i was hoping for the softer ride of a tire with some sidewall on it but i cant complain.

What's the usage going to be, wheeling or pavement?

What's the back spacing on those 18's?

Last question...what's the gear ratio?

Some wheeling, but not much until I get some use out of it and put my first scratch in it. I am definatly not into rock crawling but some trail runs and the beach are in its future.

I am not sure on back spacing yet the 16.5 x 12 weld super singles that I have now, I think are 4.5" so I would imagine it would be about the same.

I am running 4.56 gears with a turbo 350 trans and 205 tc. It seems good with the 38 " tsl's I have now. Probably could stand 4.88's though
