Later model cruise control in a 79GMC
I have the single button cruise control in my 79 GMC longbed and to be honest I hate it. I was wondering if there was a way to swap a newer model cruise control setup into the truck. My main question involves wiring the newer setup to allow for the coast and accelerate feature. I am guessing I would have to rewire part of the column to allow for this.

Swapping the column bit in is the easy part -- Hard part is the vehicle speed sensor signal. You'd need to buy a 2000 pulse per mile signal generator to go between your transmission and speedometer cable...
