Private Messages

This is just a reminder that the emails sent telling you that you have a PM are just that a reminder. When you reply to them, the only person that gets the reply is the site mailbox.

At the bottom of each " you have a private message email " is this blurb

To read the original version, respond to this message, or delete the message, you must log in here:

All the best,
The 1947 - 1998 Chevrolet & GMC Pickup Message Board Network

Don't take this post the wrong way please its just a reminder.. I have seen several replies coming through lately again, and would hate for anyone to have issues because of it.

YOU MUST REPLY TO THE ACTUAL PM or noone sees it

Thanks!

Re: Private Messages

Thing is I replied in the begining when the emails first changed. Then as time went on I realized the entire content of the PM is in that emai.. I don't want to see em, and if ya'll wanted me to you would just pm me instead

So now I see the heading and just file em away in never never land. I truely think it is just an oversite as so many are use to replying to emails. But just like a subscribed post email, if you reply I'm the only one who ever knows...

Re: Private Messages

I'm sorry, but that's funny right there.

I feel your pain, Liz. I have the same issue at work with people replying to defect notification emails. Only our system takes the reply and adds it to the defect log. So in the log, you get the original defect, then the email someone replied to (that includes the original) and if a conversation starts through email, the log pastes each reply as a new comment, so the original defect is replicated with each reply. Good times!

when you recieve a PM, you also get an email notifying you of said PM.

People are replying to the email notification, rather than logging in and replying to the PM.

hmmm, the only email i've ever received is to tell me my PM box is full and to free up some space, i've never received an email just to tell me i have a PM. MY PM's pop up as soon as i sign on, why would one need a reminder anyway?

Re: Private Messages

Some here have their options set so that they are contacted (by email) when someone pm's them or someone has replied to one of their subscribed threads. They are replying to those emails.
