Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

It is in the assembly manual. Someone posted up about that like a year ago. He scanned in the page. No one had seen one apparently until now. Sweet. I want to make one for mine, it's easy as all getout and the airbox is already dimpled where the screws need to go.

actually, the one in the assembly manual doesn't look like that, and it says discontinued or something like that. that looks home made to me.

Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

What is it's purpose? Does it protect something or....?

I have a fire extinguisher mounted to the heater box somewhere in that vicinity....Shows how often I drive my 72...LOL!

Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

Sweet!!

As mentioned above, it is pictured in the assembly manual, but no one had ever produced a photo of one actually installed on the heater. Covers up the cables. I would love to buy that one or could you post some more shots of that from different angles so as some of us could make our own??

Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

Heres a couple different pics of it. I dont think it`s home made. The edges are too clean and the holes were punched or stamped, not drilled. it has recessed areas on both ends. The heater boxes on all of my trucks (here in the driveway) have holes to mount this to them.

Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

There is a C-50 on evil-bay that has a good pic of the interior that shows one of these installed.

Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

They must be awfully rare if you've never seen one Woody.Even more so since none of the BB members has seen them.Looks like it would be a good piece to protect the airbox on a farm truck of one used for civil cervice(Fire dept, ambulance,or rail service)

Re: Anyone ever see one of these?

Those were on the medium duty(40,50,60) trucks. The floor board toe area is closer to the seat (think about how the doors are angle cut,etc.). This is used as a shield to prevent damage to the heater cable and lever from wayward boots. If you look on the heater boxes there are 2 dimples for the mounting holes.

I have found 1 in 13 years of junk yarding - not for sale.
