Rocker meets cab corner??

Where the rocker meets the cab corner, there is a vertical seam. What do I do with it? Do I weld it up and then filler it, or do I just put some seam sealer in it? I haven't done anything with it yet, as I have no idea what to do there, and when I started that whole area was rusted away, so no clues from that.

Also, where do I use bondo vs. seam sealer. For example, on the back and side of the cab where I welded the new cab corners in, do I use filler to smooth that before I paint it, or seam sealer? I assume filler, but I'm not sure, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Re: Rocker meets cab corner??

well if your not planning on doing it again weld and fill what you can with body filler or puddy, and paint it that will give you a nice smooth look if you trying to get it in a compition for closest to stock no modification you need to consult some one on whats right for the period. my self personally i welded it and filled it it looks cleaner and its easy to do. as well i welded and filled the other seams in the door jam to make it look like one solid piece...

Re: Rocker meets cab corner??

Originally it was just filled with seam sealer and just take a finger down it to smooth out and steal leave the line there. But if better looks and longer lasting is what you are wanting then do rob said. But be fore warned if you have to remove and replace that rocker again it will be a pita. I just do mine stock but cover the inside with bed liner and glue and rivit in place of welding. Just my way to do it.
