VIN location - 62 c10
62 c10 SWB. Where are the VIN's located on this vehicle? I know my 69 has one on the frame rail, and one on the cab door opening. Are the VINs on the 62 in the same location?

My 66 has the VIN tag in the driver door opening and one on the frame but not sure where and it prbably is no longer visible anyway.

The vin plate on my 63 is on the left side windsheild post. Open door and it should be at eye level when sitting in truck.

Re: VIN location - 62 c10
In Kansas they look for it when you transfer the title to make sure the cab matches the frame. Just went through it on my 69. They took a wire brush to scrape away the dirt so they could check the frame number. Just hoping this 62 has matching numbers so I can title it.

Re: VIN location - 62 c10
I have registered a few '64-'66 Chevy trucks in Johnson County, KS. Depending on who is at the inspection station, sometimes they look at the VIN tag at the door jamb and seldom they also looked to see if the number on the frame rail, adjacent to the drivers side exhaust manifold, matches.
The '60-'63 VIN tags are on the A pillar, inside the drivers door, adjacent to the windshield. Post your VIN and you can find some interesting information about your truck, i.e. year, chassis style, bed style, origin and unit number out of the production plant. Good luck with your project and Happy Holidays. |

Re: VIN location - 62 c10
On my '62 C10 the vin on the cab is on the "A" pillar, and there is a bunch of numbers on the drivers side frame rail right above the IFS saddle. I'm not sure if this is frame's vin number or not. Mine is mostly blocked because of the late model engine mounts i'm using on the 350.
