Exclamation Need Brake Booster

I have a 71' chevrolet with discs up front but no power brakes. I'd like to add a booster to convert. I believe the truck came stock with power brakes because on the glovebox service sheet it says it came with a hydralic brake booster (option J70). I've read on this site that to convert to power brakes, you'll need a pushrod from the pedal from a truck equipped with power brakes.

Do I need this rod? - or - Is it possible the booster was taken out and the master cylinder was simply bolted to the firewall?

I know of a GMC with a booster and front discs, so it won't be hard to get the rod.... Only problem is it's winter up here in Canada!

Thanks

Re: Need Brake Booster

You'll need the rod. The rod from the pedal to the m/c is totally different from the rod from the pedal to a booster.
