anybody use fatmat instead of b-quiet proucts?

In searching for affordable sound deadening, I came across fatmat.
For 50 sq. feet is about 60 bucks and for the b-quiet product that has replaced brown bread it is about 130 bucks for the same 50 square feet.

Opinions, experiences with fatmat???- good, bad avoid???

thanks chevybill

Re: anybody use fatmat instead of b-quiet proucts?

I will be using FatMat for my truck due to cost and budget. I used it in a friends car for his stereo install and I would say it's a good product. There is better out there and there is a website somewhere that did a quality/$$ breakdown of about every product out there.

Second Skin is supposed to be the best, but for the price, I will double up the floor with FatMat and call it a day.

Re: anybody use fatmat instead of b-quiet proucts?

i would throw down some roll on bed liner, then the fat mat. i had a 72 blazer with 3in pipes and no top i painted the whole floor with it and then put the carpet down and it made a big difference. add a closed cab and the mat i think you will be pleased buy the sound and price.

Thanks for the insight, byrd. I think I might use raamat as well. They are just down the road from me (about 20 minutes anyway). It would be nice to pick it up local.

Hell yeah, shipping this type of material is pricey$$$
The raamat cost more then double what the fatmat did,
but it is better and should last forever here in Ky. I was more concerned
with the fatmat melting due to our hot and muggy summers, it
usually stays around 88-96 with about 80% humidity.Factor
that into a black truck sitting in the sun equals VERY HOT
Temps inside the truck I wasn't worried about the
floors per say,but I was worried about the doors

I just like the idea of kicking in a door if I'm "unhappy" with a product

Re: anybody use fatmat instead of b-quiet proucts?

If the weather sucks less this weekend, then I will do a measurement. I am doing the floor starting at the firewall and ending at the rear window. I will also do the inside of both doors. I am guessing I can do the inside with 60 feet, but that's a pure guess.

Turns out RAAMat has moved to Utah a couple months ago, but he said he will still give me a break on the shipping. they are sold out right now and won't get any more in for about a month.

Re: anybody use fatmat instead of b-quiet proucts?

I bought 2 15"x50' rolls or about 125 sq ft. I was figuring 75-100 for the complete truck and doors, some places double layered. The rest I will use on my wifes 05' Cobalt in the trunk and floor pans to make it a little quieter.
