Dana 60 seals and stuff

Hows it goin guys. i recently put a d60 in the front of my truck and i have a few questions. first off, somebody please tell me that there are supposed to be seals for the ends of the axle tubes. i just replaced the king pins in the axle and when i did i noticed there werent any seals there and my axle shafts had surface rust on the outer part of them. Are the inner seals the only thing keeping water out of the diff???

And my other question is about the king pins... wheni replaced them, i heard that the upper pins were to be torqued to about 500ft. lbs. i dont know if i can do that with my home made 7/8 alen socket haha how am i supposed to torque them down? does GM make a tool for the pins? and if so, where can i get it.

And one last question... this one is about the 14ff rears. i have a 4.10 rear that im about to switch the ring pinion and carrier out of for 3.73's to match the new front... but how to i set the ring and pinion correctly without the shims. i dont wanna spin those sleeve thingys out too far and make it too tight on the bearings.

And just to lighten things up for you guys, im going to throw some pictures up here for ya... thanks

yea, just some pictures for ya. but any help would be awesome
