15 x 8.5 rally wheels?

I'm considering buying some used original truck rallys for my '72 Burb. The seller says they are 15" x 8.5", but the only factory ones I've seen on our trucks have been 7" or 8". I tried to search the boards for some help, but that only seems to confuse me more!

Will these fit OK on my truck or will they be too wide? Also, is the back spacing and lug pattern the same on all factory rallys or should I be looking for a specific size? I have a couple pics if that might help. Thanks in advance...

Re: 15 x 8.5 rally wheels?

They will fit just fine as long as they are the 5 hole rallys. He is probably measuring the wheel at the outer edges. An 8" wide wheel is actually 8" wide at the beads where the tire seats. The backspacing and bolt pattern is the same on all 5 hole 8" truck style rallies I believe. GM full size 1/2 ton trucks used the same bolt pattern from '71 to '98 if I'm not mistaken.

72 never had factory rally wheels // all the ones you see are either later years or aftermarket

The previous guys said it all - just be aware that Corvette/Camaro ralley's will NOT fit our bolt pattern. Wheel Vintiques has aftermarket Ralleys at a really decent price (~$60 bare) that are made for our trucks.

Thanks guys for the replies--that really clears it up for me! Now if I can just get up there to buy them before someone beats me to them...
