Spin off of the throttle linkage issues
Ok i did the gumout trick with the carb and that seemed to work fine.lubricated the linkage as well it now seems to work fine.also added new throttle return springs since they were shot anyway.now for the spin off-go out this morning to go to work...start the truck and it cranks but no start...im thinking *** you started just fine when i drove it early sunday morning....push the pedal to the floor thinking its flooded and try to start still cranking but no start.so i thought ok maybe the fuel filter is clogged or something from the gumout trick....go to autozone and buy one.come home get out my tools...start to crack the metal fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb.....one tool on the big fitting and one on the fuel pump line....start to turn when BAM the FP line snaps....GOD TODAY ISNT SHAPING UP TO BE MY DAY SO FAR!when i did this however alot of fuel shot out i mean ive done this before and this much fuel never shot out....i even let the truck sit for about an hour to let the fuel drain and it still did it.My questions are How much is a replacement fuel line from the pump to the carb,is it just my fuel filter or is the carb itself shot, and how much of a headache am i in for.is there anything else i should be looking at while im at it.any tips and help would be great.back to work now lol.thanks guys

You can go down to a local parts place and buy tubing and a bender and do it yourself. LMC has prebent lines in their catalog.
Do you have a q-jet? Ever thought about removing the stock filter and placing in an inline filter? Much easier to change and you dont risk damaging the carb threads.

ok i fixed the fuel line and replaced the fuel filter.thought about the inline filter but im more interested in getting it running right now but that is a good idea.i was talking to my dad and he said i should check since the ignition points since it still has points in it-is that a good idea or im thinking the carb or fuel pump is bad.am i on the right track here.
