She wont start a few o's

65 model 230 engine

go to start her today... she act like the battery is dead , so I hook up the charger, no difference.. dry to jump it off with my F250 truck no luck it will engae the stater but acts like it will not turn over , so I disconnect the battery and try and run battery cables straigt from anther battery via cables, no luck just acts like there is not enough juice to turn her over? I hear the starter engaging but nothing else

any ideas ya'll?

Is it engaging or just clicking? Try taking the starter off and seeing if it will spin with jumper cables (ground to starter housing, positive to the big copper bolt on the solenoid).

engaging only sometimes, then dash warning lights go dim???
I got her started by jumping the solnoid, funny thing I have to remove the battery cable and reatach if I use the ignition key, so for now I turn the key in the on postion and then jump it off between the post on the solinoid, but notice the left wire on the solinoid is not hook up? but it still runs, when I hook it back up still not satring so figure the first thing is to replace the solinoid then do some wire investigation will keep ya'll posted..
