fuel pump rod question

hey guys got a question here, im about to put a pump on the 327 and i got a rod out of a truck at the wreckers but forgot to take note at which end was on the pump and the other on the cam. one end of the rod looks like its got a bit more wear like the rod has been spinning and the wear marks are circular..would that be the cam end ? if someone knows could they please let me know? thanks, DEREK

the rod is the same on both ends, just clean it with an sos pad or scotchbrite pad and dont forget to grease it

Re: fuel pump rod question

Because it wears different on the ends. Rounded end should be against the cam, but it shouldn't be rounded enough to be that visible. I would go to the parts store and buy a new one, should be under $20 US.
