No dash lights

We started to put my sons dash back together after painting & the dash lights do not work.Let me start at the begining.
We wired the power door locks & alarm back up & when you lock the doors with the key fob the blinkers on the gauge panel flash (this is as they should do)
so this tells me the light bulbs work (we replaced them with led's while out)
but when turn the lights on there is nothing. The harness is plugged in tight @ both ends. When I pulled the wiring harness out of the back of the gauge cluster it has power at all times at the top & bottom brass contacts on the left of the plug in(sorry I don't have any pics, the truck is at the painters shop) but when we turn the lights on there is nothing. They worked fine before
we took it apart. I hate to replace the headlight switch just hoping.Any ideas?

There is a fuse (15amp) on the headlight switch body. You might have blown it when you were hooking things back up......

By the book it looks like the Inst cluster fuse (3amp) is in the fuse block but it wouldn't hurt to check the fuse on the switch anyway.

Re: No dash lights

Silly question, but did you check the polarity on the bulbs? I know you are getting good ground because the blinkers are lighting up.If yes then I would say it's the switch.

Re: No dash lights

when you know the dash lights should be on take a bulb and socket out and flip it 180 and put it back in and see if it lights up and it successful repeat for the remaining three. The LED's have to get the righgt polarity to light up as a diode will only let electricity flow thru one way. I hope this works for you, maybe you don't need the switch.
