Quadrajet Divorced Choke w/Edelbrock

I am trying to mount my Rochester Quadrajet on an Edelbrock intake and noticed that the divorced-choke stove platform is about 1/2-inch further away from the carb than the stock manifold. Is there a special off-set link for this adaptation?

Which Edelbrock intake are you running? I've done the exact same thing and didn't have any problems, but I was running a Performer intake. It might not even matter. The choke coil moves quite a bit and may make up the slack

Performer intake as well. I was just looking at it and trying to get it all sorted out before gluing it on the motor. It is on my test stand right now so I still have time to work it out. I was wondering if it just came off the other side (inside instead of outside) of the heat stove/spring...that could account for the difference.

rage'nrat638, That is what I thought...no problem then! I don't want to run the stock intake if I don't have to and I like the Qjets...easy to rebuild and tune. ROCK ON!

Used this kit on a Q-Jet on Edelbrock BB that had the same problem:

I've just bent them out of the older "heavy" wire hangers. Just don't let you wife see you stealing her hangers. I guess i'm pretty white trash though

jhow66, Thanks...good idea...since I might have to order a new stove kit with spring. Mine is bent and may be trashed. beater69...LOL!
