HELP id motor LT1-370hp??

im having trouble reading the #s on the block in a truck i just baught
i can make out 397 possible a 3 next two more unreadable #s and the last # is a 4 .
the 3 middle numbers appear to be double stamed or someting so i cant mak em out
is there any other markings to tell if this is what i have like a plug in a certin spot or any dead give aways
the #s i got below are from mortec

3973414....70......350..........LT1-370hp, Camel hump, 64cc chamber

the intake has an egr valve and a 2barrel carb
i didnt see any #s on the front pad

the guy i baught the truck from says it runs but has been sitting.
im gonna spend some time getting it running before pulling anything apart any further.
if it is a 3973414 ,you guys have any idea on the value

Re: HELP id motor LT1-370hp??

3973414 Is a cylinder head casting number, which you wouldn't be able see without popping off the valve cover, I cant read the block casting number in the pic but, 3970014 would be a 350, 1970-76, and 3970024 would be a 307, 1969-73, these are the only blocks that have numbers starting in 397 and ending in 4. BTW, what does the SPID label on glovebox door say for the engine option?

Re: HELP id motor LT1-370hp??

nothing on the spec sheet , but just by looking i can see that the truck has 6cyl engine towers and they are mounted foward like they should be for an inline. and the motor sits away from the firewall.
its also a 3 on the tree column and tranny with the shifther moved to the floor.
but the truck has a 373 posi ,speed warning dash and HAD buddy buckets
and the above is listed on the spec sheet
