Leaf spring length 74 Blazer
My Blazer is at my parents house and I don't feel like heading out to measure but can someone tell me what length the leaf springs should be on this truck? I found a decent deal on lift kit, wheels, tires, t350/NP205 and was wondering if the springs would work. He says the springs are 52" springs and he had this kit on a chevy truck.
Thanks

Re: Leaf spring length 74 Blazer
OK he went out and measured and the springs for the front were roughly 44.5 from eye to eye....is this the proper way to measure?

Re: Leaf spring length 74 Blazer
That is the right way to measure, but 74 should be 47"????? Did you say that it has a lift??? Might have the wrong springs on. See what the shackle angle looks like, if it points forward (towards the front of the truck) then it has the older style springs, pre 72. If it points back, then you got me...

you need to measure ALONG the length of the main spring. just straight across eye to eye will not give the right measurement.

Re: Leaf spring length 74 Blazer
Yeah I figured when I saw the differences in mesurement thats probably what he did. I have about decided that the 8" lift might be a tad much since I eventually plan on wheeling in rocks as well as mud so I might just buy new parts instead. I am about to head out to the land and hopefully find out what the measurements are...just for future reference lol. Now if the rain will stay away for just a little while longer....

Re: Leaf spring length 74 Blazer
the measurement is short because it is measured straight across when the spring is arched, for a proper length
the spring should be measured along the main leaf when the spring is flat/compressed |
