Red face I don't believe it and you may not either!!!

Well I was looking the other day at my linkage on my acclerator cable and kickdown cable. The acclerator cable (ac) is factory and the kickdown cable is different from factory. Well the whole time I've been thinking that the acclerator cable was going all the way back to open the 4 barrels all the way right when I floored it right? WRONG!!!! I found out that when I floor it, the AC being factory and set for a Q-jet it's not lettting it open all the way. The AC has a built in stop on it. The way I came to figure this out was I have my kickdown set at 3/4 throttle to give me a gear down then more throttle to give while in lower gear. Now when I've been flooring it it then and only then downshifts to 2nd or 1st (next lower gear) and not extra throttle. I also had my wife help me on this by pressing on the pedal and me noticing that the cable stopped but I still had more throttle to open up. So looks like I'll be looking for a new AC cable. Are they any out there that are adjustable?

To think this whole time I haven't seen what Tootsie Roll can do yet

Don't you hate that!!

So are they're any good aftermarket brands in case 73GMC's cable doesn't work for me?
