It's driving me nuts!!

Alright, I've had it. Ever since I've bought my truck, there has been a really incredibly annoying squeaking coming from under my dashboard somewhere. I don't know where, but it's somwhere. I've peeked up in there a few times, but I can't see anything that would or could make a sqeauking noise. It's a rubber squeak, I can tell that. It isn't mice because they all moved out of my truck after I got it. Can you guys give me some suggestions as to what this could be? I know it could be damn near anything, but I've looked, and I can't seem to pin it down. Any and all help (relavent or not ) is appreciated.
Jake

Re: It's driving me nuts!!

could it possibly be one of the vent hoses squeaking on the plastic they're connected to i would check em but be careful cause if you aren't then you'll have a real mess on your hands

Re: It's driving me nuts!!

I had an annoying squuek in my truck coming from under the dash, finally figured out it was the speedometer cable. Lubricated it with graphite and it was gone.

Re: It's driving me nuts!!

My blazer had this problem I was sure it was coming from the inside. I searched off and on for weeks. It turned out to be the hood rubbing on a rubber bumper on the cowl. I didnt find it till i drove with the hood partially open and the squeak stopped. I put a shot of silicone lube on the bumper and the squeak has been gone for a couple years.
It would be worth your time to check out.

My clutch squeaks like crazy. I have tried a million different lubes, oils, sprays, and nothing has worked. I'm just installing a loud stereo to compensate

Something under my dash squeaks also. sounds like its coming from the passenger side. more like a chirp though I think but none the less its very annoying.

Re: It's driving me nuts!!

Check the bolts and bushings on the windsheild wiper motor. They could be loose or worn and allow the rubber to squeak as it shakes.
