69-72 body on 79 Blazer frame
I have always wanted a blazer.I may have too many other projects going on but I am always looking for more.I found a 79 Blazer in the junkyard. The frame is good but the body isnt that great. So,what will need to be changed frame/body mount wise to work?I know that when a newer frame goes on a 67-72 truck body a body lift is needed but will I need to put a body lift on this too?I might be needing some pics of the frames on these to compare to the 79 and maybe I will be posting some pics of this conversion after I get my swb 4x4 going. If I do decide to get this blazer of course...

Re: 69-72 body on 79 Blazer frame
my plans if I do get it....1 ton conversion, swap in sm465/np205 temporarily till I go to a double t case.Full roll cage.. and all sorts of other stuff. It may hopefully look like a gen 1 blazer as soon as I get a tub that wont fall apart when I hit a bump

Re: 69-72 body on 79 Blazer frame
Well,Im gonna go look at the blazer tomorrow and get a few pics.Might make it into a trazer with all the truck parts laying around.Another route would be to put 68-72 bedsides in place of the 73-87 sides of the tub and with alot of work look alright.I think I might stick with looking for a gen 1 tub

69-72 Blazer has 104" wheelbase. 73-9? Blazer has 106.5" wheelbase...

Re: 69-72 body on 79 Blazer frame
Ditto. You will have to shorten the frame.
