best/easiest way to pull front clip
So I found a front clip from a 91 burb as well as a set of power doors w/pw mirrors for my 80, best part is the lady only wants $200!!! Anyway it's been damn cold here and the burb is outside and I've never pulled a front clip all at once. Does anybody have any advice on how to get the front clip and doors off fast enough so I dont freeze.

Well there really isn't any "Fast" way to do it especially when it's cold out but i'd start with the doors first unhook all wiring and just unbolt them from the hindges.
Then that will give you full access to the front clip bolts in the door jambs but don't remove them yet then remove the hood then undo the hood release cable then disconnect the front clip wiring harness at the fuse block unhook any groung straps that may be attached to the frame and unhook the radiator hoses and tranny lines unhook any airconditioning hoses that go the the evaparator unhook the battery cables and remove the battery and disconnect any other odds and ends like vacuume lines and shuch and unbolt the core support bolts and then remove all front fender bolts and you should be able to lift the clip off the front of the truck bring a few friends and stay warm ![]() ![]() Last edited by 87 STEPPER; 01-19-2007 at 06:11 AM. |
