Re: run across an ripoff dude

If it was all from buyers with little to no feedback, i'd be really suspicious, but it looks like folks buy multiple things from him. I imagine the folks who buy chrome from him and leave pos. feedback dont notice the rust that was plated over?? :P

I avoid him after reading the things on this site. Plus he definately leaves revenge feedback (name calling-real mature). That alone is enough to make me not want to buy.

It took me over 5 weeks and 3 emails to get a set of clear parking lights. I think he was the cheapest but I will not buy from him again.

Re: run across an ripoff dude

ebay shouldn't allow revenge feedback. it makes you not want to leave neg feedback if you were wrongly treated but the last person who ripped me off on ebay told me her mother died and she needed the money. i felt bad so i didnt leave neg feedback. in the end... she finally mailed me my item and refunded my money so i guess patience does work. just be careful, ebay has worked well for me.

Re: run across an ripoff dude

I've only had one item go wrong on ebay. I bought a computer part that the seller knew wasn't working properly, yet the auction said 'guaranteed working'. After no luck getting money back from the seller, I filed a complaint with Paypal since the auction had Paypal's "buyer protection". In the end, paypal denied my claim since the seller did send me something, even if it was broken and wasn't as described in the auction. I was told that even if he sent me a brick in a box and I received it, as long as he has tracking info then I'd be out of luck. Unfortunately, I had cash in the paypal account which was used instead of funding from my credit card, so I had no option to deny charges from the credit card company.

After that, I added a 2nd ebay and 2nd paypal account with credit card funding only that I use to pay for possibly shady auctions. I only buy with this account, I sell using my original account.

My advise: Move extra paypal cash to your bank account. Make sure you change your funding source to a credit card when you send any money from paypal.

That way you can earn points from your credit card and have the ability to challenge the charge with the card company if paypal denies your claim. Paypal is going to charge the recipient a % of the payment, might as well make them take the hit from the credit card company.

Re: run across an ripoff dude

I've bought some stuff from that ebay seller 67-72 Texparts and the quality has been excellent and even thought I'm in Canada I havent had any shipping hassles. I asked him to ship via the Poat Office so I dont have to pay UPS ,Fed Ex or Purolators rip-off broker fees. I must say though, he can be quite abrupt and forceful on the phone but nothing I couldn't handle. With Ebay I never leave feedback till its left for me.

Re: run across an ripoff dude

I agree with you, I don't leave feedback til I get and inspect the item. I bought something from him too, with lots of misgivings, but had no problem. His shipping was fast and the item was new as described. I remember when he started out and was banned from here. Lots of problems. Maybe he has learned some lesson from all that, but I'm still leary of dealing with him. I know I wouldn't ever spend very much money with him because he was such a jacka$$ when he got banned from here.
