TCS Advance Module?

What does the transmission controlled spark advance module do anyway? Mine has been disconnected. I have a 1970 with a 350 eng./th350. There is a vacuum line from the transmission to a vacuum port in the manifold and it seems to shift smooth. So what's the deal with the TCS unit? Should I just pitch it? Nothing is hooked up to it.

Re: TCS Advance Module?

The TCS allowed vacuum advance only in high gear after the engine is up to operating temp.

Re: TCS Advance Module?

it was a primitive emissions control device that limited smog by hampering performance and MPG. If you have it all there, and it is not a show rig, I'd just leave it, but have it all unplugged. This way when the powers that be in Cali say these trucks need to be smogged again, you can provide photos, and a complete kit for some one for top dollar.

Andy I think you posted about this before in another thread, but how do you disconnect it?
