Transmission??

how do i tell what year transmission i have??? ive got a 87 swb with a 305 tbi and th350 trans BUT it original had a v6 so i dont know if the trans is a 87 or not.... i am asking because i want to install shift kit but alot say for years 67-79 bla bla bla and i dont know what year mine is!!!

It should have a casting number on the side or a little metal tab with the serial number. do you know if it has lockup?

hello,,first thing to do i would think is to make sure exactly what tranny u have.. there have been several discussions on this which the answer i'm sure is in the faq section,i have seen all kinds of drawings on the pan shape,etc which will give you that info and then u can go from there...check there ,see if that help's any... good luck...
