Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

Dean makes a good point - if you have a choice, dodge the 4l60e. i keep hearing horror stories about people eating them up in trucks.

Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

I am lucky there. The donor motor 6.0l is already mated to a 4L80E.

Anyone out there have any experience with Current Performance for engine wiring harnesses?

Not I. Again - highly recommend feeling around over at the Conversions and Hybrids forum at Ls1tech. My member name over there is: shifty`

Only takes a second to post - and it could help save you hundreds of bucks.

Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

Thanks for the reply Shifty.

I have been looking at the posts at LS1Tech and spent several hours reading your posts of your build.

I'll post my question over there also.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

That in-tank pump is the same one installed in the tank that FCG made for me.

The stroke is the same, actually all the gen iii motors (5.3, LS1, LS6, LS2, 6.0) share the same stroke except the 4.8. and the LS7.

Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

The aluminum underbed tank I am using only has 1 large hole in the top for either a sending unit or fuel pump.

Since I would like to know how much gas is in the tank I will be using an inline pump, something like a Walbro 255.

Not what I would like to do, but given the choices I don't see any other options.

Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

S&P is great for parts, I've used them several times but they do mark up their products a LOT. Expensive stuff.

Re: LQ4 Engine Wire Harness

I have seen the S&P catalog and found some nice products, but the price is a little high and I don't mind shopping a little to get what I am looking for at the best price I can find.

Thank you for the suggestion.
