67-72 truck on car frame?

Has anyone put their truck on a pre-72 GM car frame. I'm talking an Impala or caprice? Thinking about the lowered stance with a car ride.

I'm wanting to chop, secton and channel a 67-72 cab and mount it on a car frame. I'll fabricate a way to mount a tubbed short bed and truck front clip

do the truck frame way to much time and money for the benefit of the ride you can set a truck suspension up pretty fat nowadays

the car frame is wider and would end up where the cab floor supports are located negating any drop. I have thought about the same thing for a couple years.

Re: 67-72 truck on car frame?

Back in the day I remember seeing one on a mid 70's monte carlo frame. He raced it on the round and round track back home. Sat real low to the ground.

I have seen some trucks on camaro front stubs, tube back halves. For the life of me I can't find any pics. If anyone knows were there are pics let us know.

there was a cat on here wanting to put one on an Eldorodo frame, but i think he bailed on that idea. This was 3 maybe 4 years ago.

Re: 67-72 truck on car frame?

Just use the truck frame with Porterbuilt C4 dropmember up front and build a back half that supports the C4 rear (this is what I hope to do real soon). Corvette front and rear goodness running Air Ride Shockwaves.

Add an LSx motor and 6 speed gear box and it's a Corvette with a bed!
