P.S. pump pully?
Has anyone ever removed the pressed on power steering pump pully? How do you do this? Mine is from an 87 truck with a serpintine pully and I need to put on a V-belt pully. I would like some input before I start putting it on the press. Is the allen head on the end of the shaft something that needs to come off first? Thanks.

You need a PS pump pulley remover. You can get one from Harbor Freight for between $10 and $20 depending on what they have in stock or on sale.

My local Carquest autoparts store had the tool. I just brought in the pump and we yanked the old one off and put the new one on. I forced a $fiver on him as a tip - they were real nice about it.
Good Luck. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll be trying it this weekend. Hope it works, if not, oh well. A trip to pick&pull is always fun.

Just an update. I got a remover/installer kit from Harbor Frieght for $10. It worked great. Easy to remove when I have the right tool. Thanks again for the info.
