Making progress

Progress has been slow, but I'm hoping to get done by early April. I've got the hardtop just about ready for paint except the rear hatch which I am trying to find one better than mine. I ordered all the hardtop rubber and carpet last week. Did a little work this weekend on the dash and driver's door.

Re: Making progress

Any other shots of the seats? What are they out of? Were they a pain to install? They look good from that shot.

Re: Making progress

Thanks all.

jughead - I don't have any, but I'll take some next time I can work on it. They are out of a 2000 or 2001 HD. We welded some brackets and mounted the seats to them. I know I need more bracing from underneath.

Luv - That is the plan. Should be able to get it "done" enough to take it. I know they are never really done.

Looks good Nubomb

Looking forward to seeing it this year at Maggie. Maybe see all those parts you bought from Tim last year put to good use.

Thumbs up Re: Making progress

I know that there are some here that would be interested in where & what those chrome step bars are from? I'm not particularly one of them, but if you could share, I am sure that it would be appreciated.

Oh, it looks really nice BTW!!

Later,
Buddy

Re: Making progress

The silver inset on the door panel - is that a seperate piece or is it just painted on the panel? Looks sharp!

Re: Making progress

The step bars are from some a toyota maybe 90's. I got them at a swap meet for $40. I'll find some shots of how they are mounted. The mounting doesn't look that great, but the guy said they wouldn't break and they haven't.

The inset for the door panel is the original woodgrained one. I used paint stripper and went to work. After the woodgrain sticker was gone, I sanded it down and painted them the same color as the truck. I was going to polish them instead of painting, but they were a little too rough. The door panels are the original white just dyed.

I'll find some before shots. I've changed computers over the past 6 or 7 years.

Re: Making progress

Here are a few pics. The all green is before. The second one is during quarter replacement. The third one is how it looked for quite a while until I got real serious. Sorry for the delay, but I started before I (or most people) could afford a digital computer and I had to break out the scanner.
