Anyone got a Edelbrock Pro-Flo Multi-Point Electronic Fuel InjectionSystem?

Just wondering, I bought a used system off ebay for my 402 and wanted to see if anyone else was running this setup.

Re: Anyone got a Edelbrock Pro-Flo Multi-Point Electronic Fuel InjectionSystem?

I have it on my 454 and I LOVE IT!
Throttle responce is AWESOME.
Now my 454 is not stock so it purrrrs and has tons of power.
This is my first FI system and so far it is working great!
I had a hard time tuning it so I took my truck in for a Dyno Tune and had it tuned properly.
If you are thinking of buying a used Pro-Flow setup you will have to buy a new chip from Edlebrock to match your cam specs in your engine..they burn the cam specs to a chip that goes into the ECU.
I would also make sure ALL the paperwork/operation manual comes with the setup along with the hand held controller. There are also alot of parts it comes with new, like fuel line, electric fuel pump, Dist convertion kit, etc...
Get a parts list of a new setup and make sure the used one has ALL the pieces.

Good Luck

I do like mine. I had to have a pro program it. Great throttle responce but the 383 stroker still sucks on gas. but then again....my foot is quite heavy when I drive it once a week.

Re: Anyone got a Edelbrock Pro-Flo Multi-Point Electronic Fuel InjectionSystem?

Looks like you got a good price.
I hope the harness was there too?
I bought a new dist. from Mallory instead of using the conversion kit. Mallory makes a dist. specifically for this MPFI setup...it plugs right into the harness

I also added a fuel pressure gauge.
Just as a reminder use high pressure FI fuel line..

That kit is probly identical to the one on my 454 so if you have any questions just ask.

Gotta love having a 454. At idle you can climb a hill.

He said everything was there that I needed to install and run. What kind and spec cam are you running? I called edelbrock and they told me a flat tappet 240 246 560 573 would work with this and they give me a number for the chip to buy for the computer. Now I have to get a stall, I just bought a new eaton posi and a set of 3.73 gears, I am going to go with a set of edelbrock performer aluminum heads that are marine coated here they are on summit but I called jegs and I am going to get them for 1395.00 shipped to me. That is the cheapest aluminum heads that you can but that I have found. I will probably need some help at some point so I appreciate the offer. I am not going to install anything until I get back from nashville goodguys show in two weeks, I am getting decent gas mileage right now so I don't want to spoil that for the trip.
Thanks, Kade

I figured my would still suck on gas because I have the lead foot also. But maybe I can get at least 12mpg if I act right on the interstate.
Thanks, Kade

Re: Anyone got a Edelbrock Pro-Flo Multi-Point Electronic Fuel InjectionSystem?

Sounds COOL Kade!
I almost got Alum. Heads but I had a set of 781's so I decided to stuff them with oversized valves and run the cast..heavy suckers!

The cam I am running is a CompCam pn# 11-231-3
Duration @ .05 Intake=210 Ex=218
Lobe lift Intake=.297 Ex=.297

I have a spec sheet in my qubical here at work so there are more nubmbers on it if you need more..
I think the chip is just a high level starting point..the tuning adjustments is what will make your rig run right.. When I fired up my 454 for the first time it sounded like a HUGE Harley..Bllubb......Bllubb.........Blubb
I had to adjust the " Global Fuel Modifier" percentage up to 25%+ and then the engine started to Purrrrrrrrr. It was starving for fuel. Did you get an owners manual? Gotta get one..explains all the Modifiers to adjust...doesn't explain to well WHY you want to adjust them just how to
If you like I can give you ALL the Modifier settings that the EFI tech set my MPFI ECU to on the DynoTune....duno if that would do you any good or not but I wrote them all down incase the memory is lost for some reason??

Also I did not use the Dist conversion kit so if you need any of thoes parts just let me know.
Have fun at the show!
Burt

Comp gave me this and said it would work.
Duration @ .05 Intake=230 Ex=236
Lobe lift Intake=.547 Ex=.547
part number 11-451-8, I tolf them I wanted a rough idle that would shake the fenders off. Here is what edelbrock told me to run
Duration @ .05 Intake=240 Ex=246
Lobe lift Intake=.560 Ex=.573
They both said I could get by with a 2500 stall. I am supposed to get it monday and I will see what all that he included. I ordered the heads today and maybe I will get them next week and I also ordered a eaton posi and the 3.73 gears. I figure when I start putting all this on I will be down a week or two before I can get it up and running, but it should be a little tire shredder when I get done. At over $3000.00 dollars it should be. I appreciate all the help.
Thanks, Kade

Well I am finally going to install it. I ended up with some 206 heads, closed, 97 cc's. I ended up with this cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku

I bought new springs and roller rockers along with new pushrods and a new timing chain set. I bought a boss hog stall out of Alabama. I ended up taking the intake and having it blasted and I powder coated it gloss black and polished the fuel rails. I have the motor tore down as of tonite and going to get a gasket set tomorrow. I will try and pull the tank tomorrow night and get the fuel lines ran. I was thinking of making the factory line from the tank as my return and running a new feed line. I am not saying that I will try and return through the pick up but use that actual line and make it work. What will be the best ingnition setup to use? It came with a dist that had already been converted to the hall effect but what do I need to use for a coil? Thanks In Advance

WOW sounds sweet!!
As for the ignition I went with Mallory. They have a dist that plugs right into the harness, it is made for this EFI setup. The coil is also Malory and also for EFI. I will go look at there site and get back to you on with a link....

Re: Anyone got a Edelbrock Pro-Flo Multi-Point Electronic Fuel InjectionSystem?

My opinion is to get new parts. Mallory was an easy "plug & Play" solution plus they are designed to work with EFI computers/ignitions.
I forget the technical reason but I think it was noise reduction so not to interfear with the computer.
But I'm sure the conversion kit works otherwise Edelbrock would not have it with their kit....sup to you just do your homework and make sure the ignition you have won't cause issues with the EFI computer..
